Enjoy a Sunday with a difference at Kadampa Meditation Centre Singapore. Our Sunday courses are designed to give you time to learn about meditation and Buddhism as well as time to relax and gain a sense of contentment and well being that comes from practising meditation. *Refreshments provided. *
This special Sunday course combines both teachings and a hands-on workshop on how to make your own mala (Prayer Beads).
Mantra- A Sanskrit word, literally meaning `mind protection’. Mantra gives our mind focus and purity and so we are protected form distraction and negative thoughts. Mantras are special, sacred sounds that embody wisdom and compassion we can recite them at anytime and we will quickly find we are able to transform our mind to a positive state.
We begin with a short teaching by Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Drolkyi, who will explain the meaning of mantra and the power and benefits of Mantra recitation. This will be followed by a practical workshop with our mala making expert David Turberfield, so you can make your own mala. (Beads and craft equipments provided).
Finally there will be a session with Gen Drolkyi where you will receive a mantra to recite and learn how to use the mala to help you focus.
