The presentation of the teachings make it an especially important topic for modern people as it shows how to meditate on and practise love, compassion and wisdom in these difficult times where we are surrounded by distractions.
Gen Kelsang Drolkyi is the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Singapore. She is a senior NKT Teacher who has studied extensively on the Teacher Training Programme and is qualified to teach both Sutra and Tantra. She has been the Resident Teacher at Madhyamaka KMC in the UK and taught internationally for many years.
Gen Kelsang Dornying is the Resident Teacher of both Kadampa Meditation Centre Australia and Kadampa Meditation Centre Melbourne. Gen Dornying has been teaching Kadampa Buddhism for over 12 years and is an
inspiring and light-hearted teacher of modern Buddhism who makesBuddha’s teachings clear, accessible and applicable to modern life.
Thailand is well known as a place of Buddhism, culture and natural beauty. During the retreat, students will have the opportunity to sample local life, food and the warmth of Thai hospitality. Whilst developing the inner peace we all need so much to help us cope with modern life.
The venue resort offers stunning views of the Chiang Dao Mountain a famous spot for Thai meditators. Chiang Dao Nest is a cozy, quiet, resort, with a highly regarded restaurant, situated about 1 hour north of Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand. The resort is nestled in a beautiful, peaceful mountainous valley. Chiang Dao itself is surrounded by a vast area of rice fields, forests, mountains and natural beauty. For those who are interested there are caves, and temples within an easy 15min walk of the resort.
Accommodation and Food
Meals and tea breaks will be eaten at Chiang Dao Nest's restaurant which has amazing views towards Chiang Dao Mountain. Serving healthy vegetarian food with organic ingredients sourced from the local rice fields and vegetable gardens.
For those wishing to book transport to and from Chiang Mai Airport to Chiang Dao Nest Resort, their will be an additional cost for those wishing to use this facility. Alternatively their is a fixed rate Taxi counter at Chiang Mai Airport for those wishing to organise their own transport.
